Rickyfitts – the Common Way EP – Pie&Vinyl Records (release 30/05/14)

And so we announce our third release on Pie&Vinyl records as we proudly support our local brothers and sisters in our never ending quest to get the torch of recognition pointed towards this historic city.

Let us introduce Rickyfitts, the latest sweet two piece to up the ante in our luscious seaside town/island city as we drain and tap some of the strongest sounding stuff to emerge from these beaches in a long time…

Using every decade of recorded music to peel, chop and throw in to a golden melting pot, these brothers truly make an exciting new flavour which they can proudly call their own. Totally owning their post garage blues fuzz sound, these guys could only exist in the year 2014.

Released on cassette tape, with download code limited pressing.

Rickyfitts

With a limited and enigmatic history to call upon, very few truths can be divulged about Rickyfitts.

These are the facts cannot be denied:

They consist of solely a drummer and a guitarist.

They hail from the seaside city of Portsea Island, having cut their teeth on the  music scene that exists in the local bars and social clubs.

It seems from the noise they have been making as well as from the sporadic demos they have placed into the Internet, that many have been able to detect an unapologetic fondness for the mighty Sabbath and rage, as well as an almost too friendly relationship with their fuzz pedals. This married with a passion for The Flaming Lips, Bukowski and Curb Your Enthusiasm make Rickyfitts a band which make drunken engineers say “You made today worth getting up for”.

The first EP is due for release on the 30th May 14 via Pie&Vinyl records.

Upcoming shows:

The Common Way EP Launch Show, Eastney Cellars: 30th May
