Pie&Vinyl Records and Champagne Justice release ‘Portsea You Black Island – Volume 1′ (Released Cassette Store Day, 17th October)

£5 – Slime Green Cassette and DL Code (Limited to 50)

Ok, we’ll come clean with you – we tried to release this for Cassette store day last year, but were held up by the tape plant we were using, who sadly closed on us.

For a long time we have been trying our hardest to expose the supremely talented and mixed bag of acts Portsmouth, Southsea (& Gosport and surrounding areas) has to offer. We thought it would be great to create a mix tape of some of our favourite acts who regularly play the local scene, and perhaps you’ve never heard of. So – We hooked up with our friends Champagne Justice, who have most excellent local ears, and created this!

These tapes are extremely limited, and all the proceeds will go back into promoting local bands. We hope to release regular ‘Portsea You Black Island’ comps – so watch out for Vol II coming soon.

The artwork is also by a local artist ‘Sharpey ‘ Big Big thanks to that man. The artwork will change with every release – collectable and fun eh Portsea heads?

Please contact us if you’d like to get in touch with the artist.

Props to all the excellent bands who have donated songs, lets spread the word and feel proud  we have something going on down here…
