Friday 10th march, at the Wave Maiden
Pie & Vinyl Presents are delighted to announce Manchester’s sharpest sons DUDS will be making the long trek down to Southsea to create wonderful noises at the wonderful drinking establishment of wonder that is The Wave Maiden. Wonderful we think you will agree.
Their brittle, disjointed, twitchy but still catchy as hell brand of no wave is a regular fixture on 6 music and they already have two sessions under their belts for mega fan Marc Riley BBC 6 music. Their latest ep Wet Reduction is in fact so fantastic that Mr Riley just had to buy 2 copies of the super limited vinyl release for prosperity – it really is that good.
DUDS debut long player is due out this coming spring on John Dwyer‘s (him of Thee Oh Sees fame) very own Castle Face Records and is sure to be a very splendid thing. Live they are not too shabby either and have scored support slots for past and future post punk god heads Gang Of Four Official, The Raincoats, The Pop Group and Omni. In case you hadn’t guessed already we are officially excited. You should be too.
Support comes from two of the most exciting new bands to come out of the South coast scene for some time.
BARBUDO hail from Havant and deliver up syrupy lo-fi psych pop designed to make your mouth smile whilst your head spins. Nice.
Drug Store Romeos abide in the exotic climes of North Hampshire – Fleet to be exact – from which they produce a heady brew of hallucinogenic dream pop. Super nice.
